Ullcanvas

Wool Canvas is a fabric in development, a fabric that will emerge through curiosity and accuracy. The inspiration comes from the heavy cotton fabrics that stand almost by themselves, but here interpreted in wool. The idea is to create a fabric with the same stability and durability, but with the function of wool.

The weave is a warp rope, where the warp accounts for almost all wear resistance. It provides a dense, sturdy surface with a beautiful, tactile feel. The wool in the warp comes from crossing sheep and leister sheep which gives the fabric its character and durability.

The project is still in development, but the direction is clear: to continue experimenting with the wrapping yarn to find the right balance between function and expression. The ambition is to eventually be able to use recycled yarn in the wrapping yarn.

Wool canvas is meant for workwear, bags and furniture fabrics.
