We are Swedish Textile

With the goal of strengthening Sweden's self-sufficiency in textiles, reducing climate impact and contributing to a more sustainable textile industry.

Swedish Textile AB is an innovative player in the Swedish textile industry with a focus on sustainability and circular solutions. In Forsa outside Hudiksvall, the company cooperates with Holma Helsinglands AB to establish a production that covers the entire value chain for Swedish wool — from collection and washing to product development in sectors such as fashion and home textiles.

The facility will serve as a hub for innovation and cooperation, with the goal of strengthening Sweden's self-sufficiency in textiles, reducing climate impact and contributing to a more sustainable textile industry.

Challenges in the global textile industry

A growing crisis: textile consumption triples

The production of textile fibres has increased by 150% since 2000 and 60% of the textiles produced today are based on fossil oil, which implies large fossil dependence and a lot of waste that doesn't break down.
At the same time, in Sweden we throw away our wool.

Challenges in the global textile industry

Vulnerable supply chains

Long value chains create risks, especially in times of global crises and conflict.

New laws and regulations will in the future affect companies that buy textile fibres in the EU. Product passports with transparency requirements and the Ecodesign Regulation will play a big role.
