the Swedish wool standard

Do you want to sell your wool?

We at Swedish Textile want long, over 7 cm, and clean wool but we are keen to find a use for all types of wool available in Sweden — that's why the wool from most sheep breeds is interesting!

This is how we classify

We will classify the wool according to the Swedish wool standard. This is to be able to deliver the same type of yarn year after year.

Wool is categorized into different quality types based on its characteristics. Each quality type is then divided into several quality classes based on the parameters that define potential uses for the wool. This allows wool from different farms and breeds to be combined, forming larger quantities with particular characteristics that are beneficial in a particular final product.

classification

what breeds of sheep do you have?

If you click on the breed of sheep you have, you will be referred to the class that the wool is most likely to fall into if your sheep have breed type wool. NOTE! important to note that this does not imply that the wool falls into a certain class just because it is a certain breed, each individual trap is judged for its character.
